Carbon Footprint Reductions at Purity Products

Purity Products, a top nutraceuticals company based in the United States, is initiating a series of policies aimed at reducing their carbon footprint. Companies like Purity Products see how important the carbon footprint is, which measures the impact that human activities have on the environment in terms of the greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide. Purity Products is reducing the fossil fuels that they burn for heating and electricity, being more energy-efficient and cutting back on waste. They are also encouraging their employees to be responsible in their personal lives.

One of the primary efforts that Purity Products has initiated in order to reduce their carbon footprint is a partnership with organic farming partners that use sustainable farming techniques. Purity Products is also collaborating with printers from the Forest Stewardship Council to reduce their waste in their packaging, shipping and marketing efforts. Alternative fuel options are another big priority for Purity Products, and they have dedicated some of their research efforts to this effort. In fact, the company has even announced their dedication to becoming “carbon free” this year.

In addition to these company policies and research efforts, Purity Products is also instigating environmentally responsible practices at their headquarters and distribution facility in Plainview, New York. These include a requirement to turn off lights and computers at the end of the day or when out of the office, an employee recycling program, carpooling incentives, and eliminating Styrofoam cups in the cafeteria.

Purity Products is using a portion of their annual charitable contributions to promote carbon reductions. They have partnered with Carbonfund.org in an effort to work towards neutralizing their carbon emissions. Purity Products has also joined with the Wild Dolphin Project as a corporate sponsor. This organization is working on a mission to research, observe and protect the Atlantic Spotted Dolphins to maintain biodiversity. It all adds up to a healthier planet for future generations, according to company leaders, which is a goal they are working hard to maintain.
